Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell works as a reporter for NBC News based out of Washington D.C. Mitchell has a BA degree in English from University of Pennsylvania. Mitchell was hired as a reporter at KYW Radio and TV Philadelphia in 1967. In 1976, she was a CBS affiliate WDVM-TV. (then WTOP in Washington DC). She joined NBC News Washington two years following that as an general reporter. In 1980, she began covering the White House. 1988 became the main congressional reporter. She became the chief White House reporter in 1992 as well as the chief Foreign Affairs reporter for NBC News. Mitchell was a panelist on the TV show Meet the Press and also hosted the program. Mitchell was a panelist at the debate in 1988 between George Bush & Michael Dukakis. Mitchell was married Alan Greenspan the former chairman of Federal Reserve Board. In 2005, Mitchell was awarded the highly coveted Goldsmith Career Award for Excellence in Journalism from the John F. Kennedy School of Government as well as in 2004 the Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA) presented Mitchell with the Leonard Zeidenberg Award for her contribution to the protection of First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell first covered the White House for NBC News from 1981-1988 during both of Ronald Reagan's presidency. Mitchell reported on many noteworthy issues, such as the arms control, budget taxes as well as the Iran Contra scandal. Mitchell also attended many summits with the help of President Reagan with Mikhail Gorbachev.
