Ava DuVernay and Autumn Riley
Ava DuVernay was born on the 24th of August 1972 in Long Beach California. DuVernay was inspired to follow her passion of art through her aunt Denise in her early years. DuVernay worked as a night nurse so that she could give her aunt the time she needed in her day for the love of writing, theatre and literature. She introduced DuVernay to the film of 1961 West Side Story and DuVernay was captivated by it. DuVernay realized that art could be a powerful tool to promote activism. Her mother, too, was socially conscious and taught her to say something through art. DuVernay was raised with her family in Compton, spent each summer at Lowndes County Alabama in the house of her father's family. DuVernay's father recalled watching the famous civil rights protest over the Edmund Pettus Bridge in the close-by town of Selma Alabama. DuVernay used the time she spent there to inspire her future film, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. DuVernay graduated with a graduation certificate of Saint Joseph High School, Lakewood California in 1990. DuVernay attended University of California Los Angeles following her graduation, and earned diplomas in English and African American Studies. DuVernay began to develop an interest in the field of broadcast journalism while a student. DuVernay was a journalist intern at CBS News at the time of O.J. Simpson trial. DuVernay recalls being asked to examine the garbage at the home of one of the jury. Her disappointment was evident in her journalism duties, and decided to switch over to the world of public relations. DuVernay was brought in right after college, as a junior publicist at the studio that was small. In this role, she launched her own PR company called The DuVernay Agency in 1999. Aside from PR, her agency also launched several social media and lifestyle networks, including the Urban Beauty Collective, Urban Thought Collective, Urban Eye and HelloBeautiful. Autumn Riley.............................Autumn Riley was born in Los Angeles United States. Autumn Riley is born with the birth symbol. Her name is associated with a well-known actress and has appeared in American Experience (1987), A More Perfect Union (2009) as well as other movies. Autumn is the character Rose in A More Perfect Union, and Anna Payne in American Experience.
