Ashley Monroe

Ashley Monroe hails from America and is a country music singer/songwriter. Following the release of two singles and an album entitled Satisfied in 2007 she formed the group Pistol Annies with Angaleena Presley as well as Miranda Lambert and released her 2nd album titled Like a Rose in 2013. Riverside Illinois and has over fifteen years of experience in public service, including nearly five years as an Deputy City Manager within Iowa City. She is currently the Village Manager's Assistant and has a variety of responsibilities that include overseeing the Community Development and Building Department in charge of grants and special projects. Ashley is responsible for the daily operations at Riverside Village while also implementing the strategy and vision of elected officials. Prior roles include the municipal planning, budgeting for communications, personnel management and collective bargaining, with a focus on climate change initiatives. Ashley's involvement with national organizations and work within communities with diverse populations have given her insight into how organisations with all sizes operate. Ashley's lessons focus on public leadership and management from the point of view of a practitioner with experience. Ashley's focus on adapting to changing circumstances and challenges, navigating community and intergovernmental relationships and taking ethical choices provides context for both aspiring professionals and those currently working in public institutions.
